Hey guys, it’s me checking in on you from home (where else?)! If you are missing coffee shops as much as I am right now then you need this easy oat milk recipe in your life. I initially wanted to create a yummy coffee drink to share but once I randomly made my own oat milk I knew it deserved it’s own blog post since I got so many comments about it on my instastories. So save it, pin it, make it! This easy oat milk recipe is just for you and I know you’ll easily become just as obsessed with it as I am.

Crave-worthy

So what makes oat milk so crave-worthy? Not only is it obviously dairy free, but it’s also creamy, naturally sweet and irresistible. I fell in love the first time I tried it steamed for a cappuccino ๐Ÿ˜. It froths so beautifully!! And now I am currently googling a frother because… coronavirus.

Truthfully, homemade oat milk works best in cold drink recipes unless you are planning to froth it while it’s hot. If poured into a hot cup the blended oats will thicken a bit and make your drink a nice gummy-ish texture which is obviously NOT what you want. Try it in an iced latte, blended coffee, tea, smoothie, or as a substitute for milk in your favorite bowl of cereal!

Bonus, save money and skip extra chemicals used to create store-bought oat milk. This recipes makes 4 cups of oat milk and costs PENNIES to make ๐Ÿ™Œ.

Frozen coffee cubes, oat milk, cinnamon ans stevia makes a yummy iced coffee!
Oat milk is coffee’s best friend. Hello creaminess๐Ÿ˜.

Recipe

Here we go…! Just two ingredients: whole rolled oats + water. (plus a dash of salt!)

  1. Soak 3/4 cups oats in water for at least 30 mins.
  2. Rinse the oats in a fine mesh strainer for a minute.
  3. Transfer the rinsed oats to a blender with 4 cups purified water + a pinch of salt.
  4. Blend until smooth on high. Take breaks and blend again to ensure every oat piece gets blended!
  5. Transfer to a large lidded jar or mason jar and store in the fridge immediately. *I chilled mine overnight before using but 4 hours should do it!*
