It’s September and I’m sharing coats and jackets for Fall… why though? Because they (tend to be) the priciest piece to a Fall wardrobe. Also, I like to start with outerwear first then build out from there! In my experience, by having the main bulk of my closet covered all other style pieces just seem to FALL in place (no pun intended ๐Ÿ˜‰).

Your Aesthetic

In my last style post, I mentioned how I have a tough time deciding what I really love and want to keep. If you haven’t checked out that post, I recommend you do that here so you can understand your ideal aesthetic first!

Plan Ahead & Save Big

It seems that when Fall hits, we are bombarded with cute clothes and home decor and it’s tough not to want to buy everything! Retailers understand our weakness and they totally prey on it ๐Ÿ˜ฌ. Great for them, bad for us. By next season we are selling or donating things we didn’t really love or need. Have faith! We can take control of our homes and closets by having a game plan. This post is part of that plan!

C is for Capsule Wardrobe

Over the course of this month I’ll be building a capsule wardrobe. It all starts with basic layering pieces like outerwear, boots, denim. Then later we add in accessories to really make your style shine through. I will share my top favorite outwear below. Some of them are already on sale! You can refer back to this post anytime throughout the season to snag staples that you will love for years to come.

Why I Went for It

Before I share, I have to talk about my feelings on capsule wardrobes. Back in spring I did a poll right here on my Instagram asking who liked the idea of a capsule wardrobe and who didn’t. The answer was 50/50. Honestly, I was torn for so long about trying a capsule wardrobe too. I thought that having a capsule wardrobe would mean looking like everyone else and wearing one color, forever ๐Ÿ˜‚. Whether you love a simple aesthetic or something to suit your every mood I think you’ll find the way we build a capsule wardrobe by working on specific pieces at a time, your wardrobe will be anything but boring and totally YOU.

Just a Note

One last thing, you guys know that shopping my links works to support my blog and business so thank you! I may make a very small commission when you shop these links directly at no additional charge to you. I understand we all have different budgets and priorities, I work to serve as a guide to help you and not hurt you. Whether you can afford the latest trends or not, you are still amazing. Note: I find beautiful styles at thrift stores too!!

My Favorite Fall Outerwear

Shop my favorite coats and jackets below. This year I am especially digging western vibes as you will see in this amazing mauve jacket ๐Ÿ˜. A classic coat or blazer goes a long way in the fashion world too! Check out my favorite denim for a casual classic look. I love layering them over just about any outfit. I plan to have 1 coat, 1 blazer, 1 leather jacket, and 1 good denim jacket in my closet this year ๐Ÿงก.

*Note: I love camel colored outerwear but all of these items also come in black or navy blue options.

Last year’s simple Fall style.

Happy shopping friends! Until next time ๐Ÿค.
