Hey babes! For the first time ever I am sharing every little detail about how I plan our meals as a family of 4 for a whole week. I’m calling my weekly meal plan the “Healthy Mind & Body Meal Plan” because that’s what having a meal plan in place has done not just for me but for our whole family. Use this as a guide to take the guesswork out of what to cook!

Free Grocery List and Meal Planner

I am also including a grocery shopping list as well! Print these weekly and fill them in to keep you on track or to save paper print a copy and laminate. Having this physical weekly meal plan has saved us money, time, and sanity because we all know that cooking for a family can be so tough! It’s one of the things I struggled most with as a mom and wife.

Everyone is Involved

My hubby loves to cook! We take turns cooking, washing, planning and everything in between including grocery shopping. Since we want our kids to be involved in the process, once a week when I sit down to meal plan, I ask everyone what they want to eat for the week and work it into the plan.

Healthy Snacking

Having healthy meals/ snack options that we already love is key! For example fruit and yogurt bowls, sourdough toasts, homemade popcorn, veggies with hummus, and tuna salads are examples of tried and trued eats in our home that become repeat offenders throughout the week. And we’re not complaining 😉.

I actually just shared a post yesterday sharing all of my healthy indulgent snacks that taste amazing. You can check it out right here!

Dinner Planning

Typically for the meal plan, I focus so much more on the dinners since we have meals rotated in for breakfast and lunch. I find having it down of paper keeps us on track a ton! If I don’t write our meal plans in then they won’t happen which leads to wasted food in the fridge and wasted money on takeout. The breakfast, lunch are all written in for options but not rigidly in the plan! The dinners however are set.

Cycle in Favorites

As you can see I like to cycle in family favorite meals as well as utilize making larger meals for leftovers. I also like to have easy to make meals with healthy simmer sauces and already cooked protein like a rotisserie chicken or cooked lentils. For those evenings when there is no time or energy to put food on the table it’s nice to have these options.
