Hey Friends! I’m crafting at my dining table again. It would seem that I’m a “crafty mom” but truthfully I’m just a mom looking for ways to unwind and destress with minimal supplies and experience level. This time we are making a DIY clothespin trivet (or two or three) and good news is this one costs pennies to make! Fellow dollar tree lovers will be happy to find this project… Only two supplies needed 👍.
Mid Week Makin’
If you are keeping up with my DIY’s for our weekly “Mid Week Makin'” series you probably already saw this fun little DIY and destress session over on Instagram!! If you missed the fun video tutorial for my DIY clothespin trivet you can head over there now and check this one out on my Instagram reels.
Supplies
Simply, grab a couple packs of clothespins, your hot glue gun and some glue. I bought 5 packs from the dollar tree store and only used 1 and 1/2 to make 3 trivets!
Assemble
Take apart the clothespins to gently remove the metal spring. Glue both flat pieces together. Then glue those pieces to each other until a full circle has been made. If none of this makes sense, you can catch my video tutorial of the whole process on Instagram reels right here ☺.
Other Shapes
For fun I created this swirly “s” type shape. I bet there are more fun shapes too try! These are the perfect size to hold dinnerware at the table. Most of all they remind me of pretty snowflakes similar to my growing basket wall winter décor here.
I’ve been using this round one for my coffee in the am! ☕☕
Aren’t they so pretty to look at? I sure had fun making these. Even for a little “me” time. If you have been following along then you already know how I’ve been using the month of January to refresh my home and mental space. Next up will be clearing out clutter and making way for all things new this year. Thanks for joining in friends!
