Truthfully decluttering and organizing has been a true challenge for me. I grew up in chaos and blamed my messes on the “creative” in me. When we had kids I quickly realized how much I NEEDED clear spaces to really thrive. I’m not always perfect, but I try me best.

Breaking it Down

Today I’m sharing how I’ve tackled the big scary part of decluttering and organizing into a super attainable process with my free checklist printable! It’s so fun to see this checklist come to life because it feels like a tiny part of my brain that took years to develop 🤣👍.

3 Easy Habits

The first part of this declutter and organize checklist asks for 3 easy decluttering habits to commit to. I love that by focusing on specific doable habits not only is the “to do” list getting knocked out, but we are making room for growth in the long run! This I’ve learned is the real key to not just making a clutter free home but keeping one as well.

My three habits listed below. We have a big problem with little toy messes in the house. When I need clarity STAT I know I can toss everything in the “toss in” bin. Then give the kids a cleanup time later to place the toys in their proper place.

Organizing Checklist

Don’t let this one scare you! I know some rooms may seem daunting ( and maybe they are). I encourage you to start with the smallest and easiest organizing project and build up your confidence level from there! I always start with a simple junk drawer then work my way up.

My goal is to organize at least one space from the checklist a week. Last week it was my bedroom closet. It was a doozy and you all will flip when you see the before! Talk about scary 😯.

I feel…

The last section I feel is almost the most important because it leaves room for the “why” behind decluttering and organizing. I feel (insert emotion here) when I know my home is free of clutter… What is that feeling for you? I wrote mine below.
