Welcome to Midweek Makin’ friends! Each Wednesday I’ll be sharing a fun and totally doable idea for you to create in your own home. This week (our first week!) I am sharing a DIY that I have had my eyes on for quite some time… a DIY Anthropologie Inspired Gold Mirror.
If anyone who is anyone knows about the coveted Anthropologie Gold Mirror..! It’s ornate and pretty yet bold enough to really make a statement. For this project I am turning my old bathroom mirror into an Anthropologie look a like. Any mirror of any size will do… even a floor length one for some cute selfies 🤗.
Experts Not Required
This project is seriously SUPER easy. No expert DIY skills involved! We are simply gluing and painting which are my favorite types of DIY projects. And I can’t take the credit for this idea myself. This one popped up on my Tiktok feed and I’m so glad it did… Thank you genius Tiktokers
Supplies
For this project you will need:
1 framed mirror (any color because it will be painted)
Gorilla Glue
Wood appliques (linked below!)
Gold spray paint (my exact shiny gold paint below!)
Painter’s tape
Clamps (or objects heavy enough to weigh down on appliques)
*I also snagged a poster board from the dollar tree and taped it to the mirror to keep it covered

Step 1: Attach Appliques
Using the Gorilla Glue, attach the corner appliques (the one that comes in a set of 4!). They measure about 4 3/4 x 4 3/4 inches. Then place the large applique in the center top and use clamps or glass jars like I did to ensure they adhere properly and snugly.
Clamp and Wait
Once all of the corners have been adorned with the pretty appliques, simply place clamps to hold or glass candy jars as weight like I did. Let the glue set for 6 or more hours before painting.
Tape and Paint
From here, simply tape edges and cover mirror (I used a poster board cut to size from the dollar tree!) then paint. I sprayed two coats of the metallic gold. I love the way this spray paint resembles the exact same color of the real Anthroplogie Mirror!
Mantle Refresh
This DIY Anthropologie Inspired Gold Mirror truly deserves to belong in my home refresh for January! Which is why I placed it right above my mantle for a minimal sophisticated look 😍. I added greenery (yes these are real!) and some candles and books for the overall new 2021 vibes. What do you all think?!
The lighting was a little off today in California so I’ll snap more of this space over the next few days! If we aren’t newsletter buddies yet we should be 🤗.
