Hello from the end of this crazy year! It feels amazing to be on the brink of a whole new year. This time of year after the holidays ends up being my time to process, plan, and look back on what the year brought. I thought I’d take the time today to share what’s to come in 2021 for my family, my @thrillofhome Instagram account and this blog I love so dearly!!
Instagram Reels
You may have noticed how much fun new video content I brought to my Instagram this year. The new Reels feature has truly been a love/hate sort of relationship for me (yes I’m going to get super REAL about all things social media today!) In truth, I have always been a fan of sharing video content. Editing in fun transitions and making the process look magical is what I’m all about..! What I am not about, is how the reels feature has at times hurt my engagement.
Blogger Tips
On the other hand, some reels have really helped share my brand and message with those who otherwise would not have found me. I truly have experimented so much with what type of content to create for reels and one big focus of mine in the new year is not just sharing reels in my niche but also helping my fellow creator babes to have confidence creating their own fun reels! I truly believe in the value and positive impact of content creators so in 2021 expect to see a lot more blogger hacks, tips and tricks from yours truly 😉.
My Favorite Reel of 2020
Here is one of my most favorite videos that I created for Instagram reels. It’s a fun video tutorial for how to make hot cocoa bombs! You can find my DIY Cocoa Bomb Recipe right here.

As if we aren’t done talking about video content 😂 2021 will brings loads more of it. Remember that YouTube channel I created and never really used?! *Oops* While I can’t promise the consistency of using that platform over Instagram, there will certainly be fun new ventures happening there too such as product reviews, clean with me, and travel tidbits. The bottom line, is that I love sharing my life in real time and I think Youtube is a wonderful platform to do that on.
Brand New Weekly Series!
*Screams!!* What I am MOST excited about for the new year is the addition of my new weekly series. After sharing a TON of home decor/diy content at the end of this year, it was obvious just how much value that type of content brought to you my wonderful audience and friends! Each week I will share a new idea for your home or life that can be easily created by you at home. Stay tuned on stories for more details about that new series. In comments, you may request any fun diy you think we should try 👍.

Life Update
Switching over to a little life update..! We are getting our house ready to sell. Our plan when we first bought our starter home was to live there a few years before selling or renting it and we’ve been in it almost 8 years now! It just feels like the right time. I plan to share the whole process for anyone in the same boat. I’m extremely nervous but also excited!
Everyday
I love this community so much and we connect on so much more that just DIY projects and recipes. I will keep sharing daily inspiration with everyday moments, life realizations (aka what the heck is going on 🤣), and much more. Typically I meld this type of all around content into my fashion finds.
When I started this account I felt silly taking pictures of myself in cute outfits, but I came to see how much of a voice I could be for women who feel the same way that I do. This life sure is crazy with ups and downs, and everything in between. A big focus of mine has always been to make sure that above all, I’m not viewed as some picture perfect person who “does it all” and if you watch my stories and read my captions then you know how I already let you in to the “not pretty” parts of life! Sometimes we are just laughing our way through because what else can we do 😉.

Ending the Year
Clearly this year did not go the way we all planned and I want to remind you that if “all” you did was keep yourself mentally healthy and stable then it’s good enough 👍. I believe in times of hardship and waiting. On the other side of that is all the goodness we’ve been longing for. And I’m thankful we have been able to stick with each other through it all!! Happy (early) New Year friends!
