Good morning and happy weekend friends! Pumpkin patches are where it’s at for Fall so I couldn’t help but put together this little roundup of the best pumpkin patches in Sacramento. Enjoy local friends and get your cameras ready… you can never have too many pumpkin photos after all.

Fog Willow

The sweetest farm exists and it’s called Fog Willow. My daughter had a field trip here when she was just 4 and I will never forget that precious day! The farm prides itself on being agriculturally based which is why they offer field trips for preschool through 6th grade. I love how wide open the farm is too with rolling hills (9 acres to be exact) and LOTS of pretty pumpkins to pick. They offer unlimited hayrides, a petting zoo, big haystacks for climbing, homemade fudge and caramel apples and much more. They even do birthday parties! Check their website here for more info.

Dave’s Pumpkin Patch

For a new kind of fun, Dave’s Pumpkin Patch at Vierra Farms is a must see! I’ll admit I haven’t been here yet but have always wanted to go. This year will be the year I tell you! Just check out these amazing events that go down… their whole schedule is PAKCED with family fun! Farm to fork fridays, family campout, breakfast with Dave, movie nights, princess shows and costume contests… they have thought of everything! See their schedule on their site here to see for yourself. This farm will be one you never want to leave and keep coming back to year after year. Don’t forget about the pig races, corn maze, and petting zoo. And check back around November for Christmas trees!

Zittel Farms

Just up the road in Folsom California is a hidden gem for Fall enthusiasts. Zittel Farms holds an extra special place in my heart because it was the very first pumpkin patch we took my daughter to (insert crying emoji here). You guys, she was just barely walking and waddling around ugh my heart! What I love about Zittel Farms is that it has such a nostalgic vibe. There are vintage tractors here and there and little cute scarecrows set up for fun. It’s been there since 1976 and not just for pumpkins, they also have some fresh produce for sale as well as local honey too. It’s the perfect little place to get some photo ops and let little ones explore. We love this as a spot for a little farm tour or a play date! See their site here.

Bishop’s Pumpkin Farm

For the ultimate day of family fun Bishop’s Pumpkin Farm is a must! This farm is in Wheatland California (about 40 minutes from Sacramento) but oh so worth the drive! When you get here, there is so much to see and do. Their attractions are extensive and include a coyote mountain mine (massive play structure!), zipline, sunflower labyrinth, petting zoo, train, carousel, corn maze, tire jump, tree fort and more. They also feature fun entertainment like puppet shows, animal olympics, and a chicken show… I am super intrigued now! When you come to Bishop’s you will want to stay all day as they also feature some of the best farm food around. BBQ turkey legs, corn on the cob, cookieactory, apple cider slushakies, plus homemade fudge and candy! Okay I’m super hungry now guys… here is their site for more deets. See also their lodging options. This place is insane!

Apple Hill

Ahh the infamous Apple Hill… The apple cider donuts, fresh produce, and apple EVERYTHING. It really does live up to the hype because it’s delicious. And yes there are also so many pumpkins! This place gets really busy on the weekends and if you plan to go I advise you to go EARLY to avoid crowds. Contrary to what some may think Apple Hill is not just one place but rather an area of apple farms. There are several farms here so I will share a little insight into which ones I have been to.

Boa Vista Orchards

This is the main farm where everyone gets that infamous “apple hill” photo. All things apple here including a picturesque scene. Did I mention apple donut ice cream sandwich and local wines? Oh yeah, that too. Plan time to sit and unwind, take it all in… it’s just gorgeous. See more photos and details here.

Abel Acres

The place with the yummiest pies! There is also a bit of fun for kids including many fun photo op sets, maze, pony rides and more. We even come back here for Christmas trees!

Blue Stone Meadow

This is where we took the kids recently as seen here in the photo. We honestly thought our day was ruined after Apple Hill was a fail because we arrived too late and couldn’t even get into Boa Vista. But we found this farm instead and instantly fell in love. Blue Stone Meadow is a lavender, pumpkin, and Christmas tree farm. The property is stunning and features fresh fields of lavender (still developing), the sweetest little green house with tiny plants that they call “the secret garden”. The kids enjoyed a fun little barrel ride through the spooky cave and we even got to watch a pumpkin get launched (they do it on the hour every hour!). There is a fun waterway with rubber ducky races, a field of perfectly round pumpkins, a pumpkin bath, bubble play for kiddos and even a fun fairy garden to admire. Their shop smells heavenly with fresh lavender sprays, sachets, and even stuffed animals filled with lavender. I am so happy we found this place because it is the perfect slice of Autumn.
