It’s late and I’m sitting here wondering how it’s already almost Halloween! I’m not going to lie, after this I am checking amazon for the kids’ costumes… pray for me I’m crazy 😂 Nonetheless, I have a super DUPER easy last minute Halloween entertaining idea… a fun and festive popcorn bar!

If you have been following along for awhile then you already know that popcorn is my favorite snack ever..! And when I learned how to make it on the stove top with just a few ingredients I’ve been even that much more hooked. Plus it’s CHEAP! I can buy a big container of kernels (even organic) for $3 and make buckets of popcorn… clearly I’m obsessed. If you want to use fresh popcorn here is my Hot Fresh Popcorn recipe (hint: it’s easier than you think).

The Goal

Since I know the kids will get loads of candy for Halloween, I wanted to create a spread that was not only kid-friendly and fun, but also not totally loaded to the brim with sugar. And we LOVE movie nights around here, so a popcorn bar for Halloween is just one idea I couldn’t pass up! So fun for parties, play dates, movie nights, school events and more.

Fun for Kids

The whole idea behind this fun Halloween Popcorn Bar is A: it’s stress free and B: perfect for kids. They simply fill their bucket (or bowl) with popcorn then grab a few cupcake liners with the mix ins and add to the bowl. I love how there is no additional serving utensils needed or fancy server ware. I probably spent less than $15 for the server ware and the biggest chunk of that came from the $9 utensil holder from Walmart. Use what you have. This idea is budget-friendly and can be pulled off by anyone!

You Will Need (for the food):

Popcorn (either store bought or my recipe here)

4 mix ins… here is what we used:

PRETZELS
GUMMY WORMS
CANDY CORN
REESE’S PIECES

We also tried Trader Joes Candy Corn Popcorn and it did not disappoint! I love how it is not overly sweet and made with no artificial flavors or dyes. Adding it in with the popcorn to serve just added a fun pop of color and whimsy.

*anything goes for the toppings. Have fun with it!!

You Will Need (for serving)

Muffin Tin (regular sized or mini with corresponding size cupcake liners)

Popcorn bowl (I got the utensil holder pictured from Walmart for $9)

Popcorn bowls or mini jack o lanterns (mine are again from Walmart)

Optional Decor

Spider Web or “Spooky Fabric” like what I got from Target

Tablecloth (mine is from Dollar Tree)

Paper straws

Napkins

Fun Masks just for fun!

From Left to Right

Here is the whole bar from left to right!

First, grab a little jack o lantern… These were 97 cents each from Walmart.
Next, fill with popcorn. A small paper cup is perfect for scooping up popcorn.
Here are all the mix ins! I let my kids pick 4 mix ins each. After their firsts, I let them have seconds because I’m soft 😂
Bat plate and paper straws from Walmart instantly adds to the fun Halloween theme!
Napkins from Walmart. Dollar Tree had some that were just as cute!

The Whole Look

We really had a movie night last night! This wasn’t just for show haha..!

That banner is from Target Dollar Spot btw. It’s all the little and inexpensive details that really make this idea come to life!

So which part about this popcorn bar is your favorite?

A. The simplicity
