Well hello guys!! Front porch season is officially on. I can hardly pass up much at Target (as hard as I try) and when I saw these bright colored candle holders they were no exception. Here is a super easy and cheap DIY project you can put together anytime! Perfect for dining and side tables, I love the cozy vibes these candles give. And how perfect are the for weddings or parties?! The possibilities are endless with this one.
Target Dollar Spot FTW
I first spotted these guys and my mind immediately converted them to matte black. I bought 3 for $3 each. I didn’t even think twice because the intuition was just too strong.
Paint It Black
This is the best spray paint ever! We used it to paint our “magic light” in our DIY Pantry from a few months back. I keep finding new things to paint because it’s just so darn versatile which I love.
Strip It Down
Oops I get so excited about painting that I sometimes try and skip steps… Before the fun part of painting, we have to remove these annoying stickers. Please tell me why they are the hardest part about this project? Luckily with Goo Gone, it’s a breeze. This isn’t sponsored, I just love this stuff! If you don’t own Goo Gone, you’re wrong. Kidding!! But seriously don’t try and remove these without Goo Gone because it’s a total pain.
Ready, Set, Paint
Now let’s fun part of painting commence! No rules here, turn the holders upside down spray paint, let dry, repeat, dry. Then turn over and repeat the process until they are all completely coated.
What helped me with this process:
Use a big box for a mess free experience.
Of course, painting must be done outdoors!
Spray side to side to coat evenly.
Use parchment paper to place holders on so they don’t stick to the box when drying. (I didn’t do this and mine stuck a little bit!)
And here is the finished product!
I am so excited for more porch hangs and cozy nights enjoying conversation around these cuties! Thanks for reading you guys. I can’t wait to see how you use these this summer. Bye for now!
